A Monastic Life in a Day

Heyall,

I have returned, and will post some about personal retreat, but first, here is a great video from my friend Sam, who is currently a resident at Great Vow Zen Monastery.

I like how the first 70% or so of the video is the morning routine. I suspect it simply feels that way, when you're starting at 3:50am.

Thanks for being awesome, Sam!

There is something a bit extreme in the monastic life that I find very compelling. Like starting the day at 3.50 am . . .

But then, I am sure the romanticism fades out after a few weeks, and one starts craving the days when one could relax in bed until 7.

Thank your friend Sam for letting us having a peek :)

Thanks, Marguerite, for visiting and adding me to your blogroll! Many in our Sangha hear the "monastic voice" inside. Mine is sleeping in, I think. :)
