Welcome to the blog of a Midwesterner gone West Coast, a happily married clinical social worker.
With Zen practice, exploring what it means to be a true person of no rank and what it means to be in service to the present moment.
I am loosening my death grip on professional identity, identity in general, and leaving claw marks on everything I let go.
It has quite a hook, doesn't it? This video saved me when I was working in the Children's Program of a Battered Women's Shelter in the 90's. They were some of the most traumatized kids the director had ever seen, and took a lot of skill to work with every day. Sometimes at the end of the day, I would put this video on, just for me. Sesame Street was made by Bodhisattvas.

I love this song and am so glad to have it stuck in my head now

I love this, too. Caden watches this video when he wakes up and I have not showered yet!! That same video has James Taylor singing.
It's so comforting! I just love Sesame Street for that. They've always got something for adults to enjoy too.
